With a lifetime of kayaking experience behind him and over 10 years surfing kayaks in international competitions, Nathan 'Yellowboy' Eades is hardly a shrinking violet in the surf world. With a fast, aggressive and - above all - aerial style, you can pick him out in the line-up from a mile away.
Nathan was one of the very first surf kayakers to travel the world looking for shallow reef breaks and gnarly waves to test his designs and work on new manoeuvres. But his design prowess comes from more than just time in the water - he's spent time studying design at university, and has brought some of the prototyping and production ideas to Airtime.
Nathan's designed shapes before, but he's excited to be working with us here at Airtime - not least because our construction does real justice to his shapes. And the proof's in the results: Nathan piloted the Alushe to a bronze medal at the 2009 worlds, after just five days in the first prototype. This same prototype has survived Nathan's surfing ever since, including brutal South Wales shore dump and a month in Tonga, where speed was essential to make it through the section and avoid getting smashed over shallow reef.
Nathan's also surfed in South Africa, Tahiti, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Portugal, Spain, France, Anglesey, Morrocco, and Costa Rica.
