Dave's our chop-meister and boat-builder. He's been working with all sorts of fancy fibres for over five years, including vac-bagged and pre-preg polo boats for P&H. He also oversaw the rejuvenation of Valley's surf boat range, so there's no-one better qualified for composite construction. Since he's taken over the helm at Downtime, he's brought new shapes, new constructions, new ideas and whole bucket-loads of enthusiasm.
But to call Dave a boat builder's to miss the point. First and foremost, he's a paddler. He's a big game hunter on the squirt safari, which has taken him as far afield as France, Spain, Canada and West Virginia, hunting for the perfect charc. He's also paddled as part of the GB squirt team, but Dave's heart's really in destination park'n'sink, without any of that extraneous flailing on the eddyline.
